You *NEED* to fail for refining. Rather depressing, but true.

Alright, most people know this, but if you're going to systematically rank everything with production (Like me, not sure how many others are out there), start with Refining. I made a mistake of getting r5 production mastery, and now my Refining suffers.

Also, do Metallurgy instead of mining. It's
1) Lighter on your inventory
2) Lighter on your mule

I'm sure that a considerable amount of people already know this, but whilst doing refining myself, I found that the boredom was killing me. So, to make things more interesting... don't try to pull off epic levelling in one sitting, it takes a while.

Other piece of advice: Have a "Scarecrow" enchant set. For those who don't know, just keep whacking the scarecrow outside of Dunbarton, burn the ench, and use it on each and every piece of gear (Charms included).

Reasoning: The Scarecrow set's a -DEX set, perfect for ranking up refining, if you want the best chances of failing. Also, I use "Who Experienced Death" title, giving me a -30 DEX "bonus," shall we say. That added onto the -DEX set can have:

6(Hat) + 6(Charm) + 6(Charm) + 6(Body) + 6(Shield or cooking table) + 6(Boots) + 6 (Gloves) + 30 from the title.

In the end, giving the bare minimum of 72 DEX decreased. That's a whooping -7% (If not more) from refining decreased. Using the Elven furnaces, you can decrease all success by another 5.

So the success range, after these calculations, is -12 to -14%... really making the training lighter. (But still hell. Enjoy. ^^)
